Our first day seeing the moon roughly 384000km away just before sunset. We did it early in the evening just before the clouds rolled in and obscured view for that night
Al and I set up our new Telescope. We are now ready to monitor for aliens so as to welcome them to our simple planet. We are using a Celestron Omni AZ 102 refractor telescope w 20mm and 10mm optical lense. Aperture (diameter of light gathering lens) is D= 102mm. Focal length F=660mm yielding 660/20= 30x magnification w the 20mm eye piece and 660/10= 66x magnification w the 10mm eye piece. The focal ratio (F/D) is f/6.5.
A couple days later we had some great views of a partial full moon. Check out the detail of the craters at the periphery.
